T'Railway Provincial Park
Connected to Timberland resort, The T'Railway Provincial Park stretches almost 900km from St. John's to Port aux Basques along the main line of the old abandoned Canadian National Railway – first used in 1898.
The Park serves as an island-long corridor and a historical link to the area’s past railway heritage, because most of the original rail bed, trestles and bridges remain intact.
The track is now a multi-use recreational trail enjoyed by both Newfoundlanders and visitors. People use the rail bed to reach new fishing spots, to birdwatch, or just to enjoy time under big skies in the wide outdoors. In winter snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are also popular along the trail.
