Course Highlights
This 7,140-yard, par-72 layout will plunge the golfer into the rugged Canadian landscape. Set high upon the hillsides overlooking Deer Lake, many holes will offer sweeping vistas of open water and mountains. Strategically placed, white-faced bunkers will combine with rolling fairways and sparkling creeks to create a dramatic canvas for birdies, eagles, and the occasional moose!
Architect
Graham Cooke & Associates is a top-ranked Canadian golf course architectural firm. Led by former successful amateur player, Graham Cooke, the GCA team has designed over 100 courses worldwide and received countless industry awards.
In addition to building some of North America’s most innovative and memorable courses, and winning countless design awards, GCA were also selected to renovate the Circolo Golf Torino in Turin, Italy, in preparation for its hosting of the 1999 and 2000 Italian Opens.
GCA award-winning courses in Canada include:
- The Dunes at Kamloops (British Columbia)
- The Lynx at Kingswood Park (New Brunswick)
- Fox Harb’r Golf Course (Nova Scotia)
- Dakota Dunes Golf Links (Saskatoon)
GCA’s ethos is to work in harmony with the environment, using the area’s natural features to create an aesthetic experience. GCA has made the most of Timberland’s dramatic panoramic valley and lake views, creating a sensational course.
Scheduled Opening
The course is scheduled to open in two phases. The back nine holes will be ready with Phase 1 of the development in May 2009, whilst the front nine will open the following spring.
